The Legacy of Rona Joy Tuaño
(Oct. 22, 1968 – June 23, 2001)

In full support to the joy that Tamiya racing brings to her husband Mayo, the late Rona Joy has built a workshop, now regularly used by members of the team, (or is it to get rid of the trash that usually comes whenever a set up session is being held inside their house?)

In the beginning, a kiddy table was carefully laid out under the shade of a tree in the front lawn of Tuaño’s residence. This is where you will regularly find Mayo, along with another teammate, tinker their cars long before the weekend races.

Soon, to the amazement and unwilling cost expense of IdolMayo, a roof was built with sufficient lighting system, thereby making the space operational, 24-hours daily. The news spread to the other team members who then became regulars in the workshop. After all, who could resist a well ventilated, well lighted, shaded workspace with free flowing coffee, imported from the Monks in Cagayan de Oro.

Alas, the space can no longer accommodate the number of regulars frequenting the workshop, so Rona insisted to add a second floor on top of the storeroom being built at the back of their residence.

Although relatively smaller in size, the workshop was built for its purpose. Lights, ventilation, ashtrays, electricity outlets, and, kiddie tables. Still, the ever flowing coffee is served to abusive members.

It is but unfortunate that Rona Joy is no longer here to see the completion of her contribution to the team.

THE WORKSHOP, a pride and joy of TKD. This is where a particular setup begins and strategies, drawn.
